Recreation Centre

The Geelong College Recreation Centre opened in November 1999 to provide a high quality training, recreation and competition venue for students, staff and members of The Geelong College community.

The state-of-the-art aquatic centre features an indoor, variable depth pool with a separate diving area and is treated with an advanced salt chlorination system, producing the highest standard water quality. The pool caters for lap and squad swimming, Learn-to-Swim classes, water polo and diving, among other activities.

The Recreation Centre is located beside the Roland Centre at the Geelong College Senior School campus and can be accessed easily from Aphrasia Street.


The Geelong College community are able to use the Recreation Centre by taking out a membership of the facility.
Memberships are available for three, six or 12 months. A 10 visit membership is also available.

All applications for membership must indicate the applicant's affiliation with The Geelong College from the list below:

  • Current students, their parents and siblings
  • Present and past staff and their partners
  • Old Collegians, Morongo Old Collegians, their partners, parents, siblings and children
  • Members of The Geelong College Foundation and The Geelong College Council
  • Contractors and suppliers to The College by invitation

Limited lane availability

APS squads will be training at the following times during Term 1 2017 which will effect the lane space available for members:

Mondays from 7am - 8am (some lanes available for members)
Mondays from 3.45 - 5pm (NO lanes available for members)
Wednesdays from 7am - 8am (some lanes available for members)
Thursdays from 3.45 - 5pm (NO lanes available for members)

Upcoming Pool Closure Dates:

Tuesday 25 April (Anzac Day). No Learn-to-Swim classes on ANZAC Day.

Learn-to-Swim - booked out for Term 1 2017. Applications will be placed on a waiting list.

The Geelong College Recreation Centre Learn-to-Swim Program offers a positive learning experience for children. Open to all students of the College or schools in the local area, the Recreation Centre offers outstanding aquatic programs with experience teachers, excellent service and small classes in a world class facility.

Learn-to-Swim operates from Monday – Friday between 4.00pm and 7.00pm.

Holiday Intensive Program - Mornings from Monday 3 - Friday 7 April

Our outstanding intensive holiday swimming program is back. Registrations are now open at a cost of $80 per student.

Your child will benefit from experienced teachers, small groups and the consistency that an intensive program allows. Don't miss out.

Pool hire and programs

The Geelong College Recreation Centre welcomes group bookings from clubs, schools and associations for training or one off events. We also host programs including Bronze Medallion classes, Pool Lifeguard Award, aqua aerobics, deep water running, water polo and stroke correction classes are available for members.
