Athletes in Excellent Form at Championships

Several Geelong College athletes competed at the Victorian Country Athletics Championships, achieving some great results.

The championships took place at the beginning of the term, on 26-28 January, in Cranbourne.

The College students' hard work paid off with plenty of medals in the finals:

  • Ruby Pekin-Schlicht (Year 11): silver in high jump, 100m hurdles and 400m hurdles.
  • Eliza Walsh (Year 10): gold in 100m hurdles and 400m hurdles, silver in long jump and 4 x 100m relay, bronze in 4 x 400m relay.
  • Libby Falkiner (Year 11): bronze in 100m hurdles, 400m hurdles and 100m, gold in 4 x 100m relay, 4th in 200m.
  • Sophia Powers (Year 9): bronze in 100m and long jump, gold in 4 x 100m relay.
  • Hamish Poulter (Year 8): gold in 100m and long jump, bronze in 400m and gold in 4 x 100m relay.
  • Nicholas O'Brien (Year 8): gold in 400m, 800m and 4 x 400m relay.
  • Cassidy Bradshaw (Year 8): silver in pole vault.
