Year 3s Hear from Elite Athlete

This week Year 3 students were lucky enough to have Australian Winter and Summer Paralympic medallist Jess Gallagher come to visit.

Jess is vision impaired and shared her story with us, from how she dealt with her diagnosis of a degenerative eye disease (cone dystrophy), right though to her incredible success as an elite athlete.

The students asked Jess a number of questions referencing The Geelong College Vision for Learning and how these qualities enabled her to achieve her goals.

It was fantastic for them to hear and see how the practical application of these elements can result in amazing achievements. We are all looking forward to cheering Jess on at the 2018 Commonwealth Paralympic games.
