On Tuesday 11 and Wednesday 12 April, 21 girls attended The Geelong College Netball Camp at Senior School. Over the two days, the girls had the opportunity to hear from specialist coaches and develop their skills, fitness, tactics and game play.
1st Coach Damien Stephenson ran the camp with the help of specialist coaches Rebecca Faulmann (Geelong Cougars Head Coach 2010-13 & Victorian U17 Assistant Coach 2014), Melissa Bragg (Victorian Fury player and Geelong Cougars VN championship player), Jess Kelly (state player & Geelong Mixed National Champion player) and Julia Woolley (Geelong Mixed National Premiership player).
The girls were also inspired by the Guinness Book of Records Holder for 55 consecutive marathons, Matt Daniels, who spoke of the importance of preparation and goal setting in any sporting endeavour.
Thanks to the many parents who supplied nutritious food and drink to keep the girls satiated.
Good luck to all the netballers for the impending winter season.
