Skiers and Boarders Hit the Slopes

Fifteen Geelong College skiers and boarders hit the slopes at Mt Buller on Sunday 9 July for a race training session and to compete in the Snow Racer Giant Slalom race.

Everyone had a great day, learned a lot, and had some handy practice on the race course which will set them up well for the Victorian Interschool Snowsports Championships next month.

Many thanks to Mr Tyrell who ran the day, to parents who trekked to Mt Buller and helped out on the day and to Jodie Fernandez, No.1 supporter and photographer (on a tricky day). We were so lucky to have the Mt Buller Race Instructors who taught technique, race strategy and starts in a fun way – in particular Mollie Fernandez (OGC 2016) who worked with our snowboarders.

Entries for the Victorian Interschool Snowsports Championships close Thursday 13 July – if you are a skier or snowboarder who likes a challenge, enter here.
