College Footballers Revel in Epic Falcons' Win

Congratulations to the five Geelong College football players who were involved in the Geelong Falcons' drought-breaking TAC Cup win during the school holidays.

Year 12 students Oscar Brownless, Sam Conway and Jack Henderson, and Year 11 students Ned McHenry and Charlie Sprague have been outstanding for the College's 1st XVIII and the Falcons this season.

On Sunday 24 September, they took to the field at Etihad Stadium for the TAC Cup grand final between Geelong and Sandringham. After a hard-fought first quarter, Sandringham took a 20-point lead into half time. The Falcons rallied in the third quarter, kicking eight unanswered goals to earn a 30-point lead.

The Geelong players held their nerve in the final term to hold off a resurgent Sandringham, which fell short after the final siren by two points - Geelong 13.11.89 d Sandringham 13.9.87.

Congratulations to the boys on helping the Falcons win their first title since 2000!
