Georgie Impresses at Equestrian Nationals

Georgie Batten competed on two horses in the Australian Interschool Equestrian Championships in Toowoomba from 26-29 September.

On her first horse, Irish Reign, she was in the eventing, which is like the triathlon of equestrian and involves dressage, show jumping and cross country jumping. They were in the CNC* class (commonly referred to as 1-star), which is the top level at interschools, and came third overall.

On her second horse, Fleur de Soleil, Georgie competed in the 1.10-metre show jumping. The class is scored over three phases involving different combinations of speed and technique, and scored on time and how many refusals and/or rails you have down. Georgie came ninth.

It was quite an experience for the Victorian students and their families, involving a round trip of 3600km with the horses on board, to compete in extremely hot and trying conditions in Toowoomba.

Congratulations to Georgie for representing the College and Victoria at the highest level!
