The College community has celebrated the creative journeys of our VCE Art and Design students at the opening night of the Transit Lounge exhibition.

The Keith Humble Centre has been transformed into a gallery to display the breadth and depth of our student talent, reflecting their creativity, dedication, perseverance, grit, diversity, thinking, problem-solving and passion.

Photographer Ferne Millen (OGC 1996) was our special guest at the opening night on Thursday 26 October. Ferne was a dedicated art student at College, who has since followed a wonderful journey into commercial and creative photography.

A series of award winners were also announced on the night. The Year 11 Encouragement Awards were presented to:

The final award of the night, the Principal's Acquisitive Art Prize, went to Neve Horvat (Year 12) for her artwork titled "Unexpected Connections". She used digital photography, Photoshop, inkjet printing and laser cutting to make a powerful piece, exploring the complex notions of the word "sonder", which is the realisation that each random person is living a life as vivid and complex as your own.

The exhibition is open weekdays until Thursday 2 November, 10am-6pm, and this weekend, 10am-4pm.
