Tielle Stars at Circus Celebration
NONE

Geelong College Year 10 student Tielle Lyons has showcased her talents in the Australian Circus Festival, an annual event featuring the best circus performers in Australia.

Tielle performed with Jess Treble (future Geelong College student) under the big top in Sydney in the amateur category of the festival, which also included categories for professional and pre-professional performers. They were invited to take part in the festival after submitting a demo video of their routine.

As well as being an opportunity to showcase the top acts in the country, the festival is like "draft camp" for circus performers. Talent scouts from Cirque du Soleil and other major circus troupes use the event to recruit new talent. The festival was also a chance for the girls to watch and mix with the best in the business.

The atmosphere was electric and intense, and by far the most pressure either Tielle and Jess had performed under - all while hanging 7m off the ground! They absorbed the nerves to produce a fantastic five-minute routine, a reward for their countless hours of training.
