Golf Day a Hit for College Foundation
NONE

More than 70 golfers teed up for the second annual mixed Foundation Community Golf Day at the Barwon Heads Golf Club Friday 24 November.

The weather was kind and some good scores were posted following a shotgun start in the morning. Lunch and presentations followed.

A three-way countback was required to separate the women’s stableford placegetters, with Suzanne Mockridge edging
out Hilary Neerhut and Lynda Stewart. Suzanne’s win was particularly meritorious, given she has only recently had a partial knee replacement.

The men’s event was easier for the scorekeepers, with Simon Jarman winning by one point from Doug Slattery, and one point further behind was Mark Bain in third place.

The best aggregate team event was won convincingly by John Lewis, Adam Wettenhall, Doug Slattery and Andrew Johnstone.

Particular thanks go to Peter and Naomi Miller, who attended the lunch, and to Foundation Board members Julie Cole and Suzanne Mockridge, who organised the day.

The event will be held again next year on Friday 23 November and is open to all members of the College community. Interested golfers who wish to enter for next year should lodge their details with Joyce Taylor at the Foundation office at the College.
