Year 5 Teams Rule the Robocup Roost
NONE

The Geelong College's Year 5 students have performed brilliantly at a regional Robocup competition, placing first, second and third.

Seventeen of our Year 5 students travelled to Christian College Highton for the Geelong Regional Robocup competition on Friday 15 June, where they competed in the Riley Rover division in teams of two or three. In this division, students are required to program a robot to follow a winding black line through obstacles and into a green "rescue" area. With the clock ticking, the robot must locate and rescue the "victim".

At the end of the day, the College's Black team of Michaela Payne, Charlotte Koch and Romy Heard placed first; the College Pink team of Maddie Koch, Edwina Gorell and Rose Jones finished second; and our Red team of Hayden Chan and Alex Arora came third. These three teams will be given the opportunity to compete in the Victorian Robocup Championships in August.

We were extremely proud of the manner in which all our students represented the College on the day. Well done to all our teams!
