Year 4s Dig In to Tree Planting Weekend

The College's Year 4 students have kicked off our National Tree Day weekend by adding hundreds of plants to the College Foundation block at Merrawarp Road on Friday.

For Schools Tree Day on Friday 27 July, the students were joined at Merrawarp Rd by John King from the Geelong Indigenous Nursery, who supplied the plants and gave a quick tutorial on how to properly put them into the ground.

Today's efforts are the start of the revegetation work that will take place on the College Community Planting Day at the Merrawarp Road property, on the banks of the Barwon River, on Sunday 29 July.

All College community members are welcome to drop in between 9am and 1pm on Sunday to lend a hand. Gardening equipment and plants will be supplied, and volunteers are encouraged to come with warm clothing, sturdy shoes, gloves, a warm drink and a small plate to share.

Directions: From the intersection of Hamilton Highway and Merrawarp Road, travel south down Merrawarp Rd. You will find the driveway on the left, just before the Barwon River bridge crossing. There will be signs directing you to the planting site.
