Romy Smashes PBs, Wins Bronze at Nationals

Congratulations to Romy Heard for her recent outstanding performances while competing in the SchoolSport Australia Swimming Championships in Hobart.

Romy (Year 5) won a bronze medal in the 11-and-Under 100m Breaststroke, shaving an incredible 10 seconds off her personal best in a time of 1.22.86. Representing the College and her state, Romy also achieved the following outstanding results:

  • 5th 100m Freestyle
  • 6th 200m IM, reducing her PB by 14.5 seconds
  • 6th 50m Backstroke with a 0.8-second PB
  • 7th 100m Backstroke
  • 9th 50m Freestyle
  • 10th 100m Fly with a 3-second PB
  • 5th in the Medley Relay
  • 5th 4x50m Freestyle
  • 8th 8x50m Freestyle Relay, where the top two swimmers from each age group were chosen to race.

A lot of hard work goes into training, especially in the off-season. Congratulations Romy on a set of results which you should be very proud of.
