Young Artists Vie for Portrait Prize
NONE

Fifteen Year 7 students have created diverse entries for the Geelong Gallery’s "Who’s Who Portrait Prize", coinciding with the Art Gallery of NSW 2018 Archibald Prize.

Working through their lunchtimes, the students celebrated local or regional identities through portraiture. Identities as diverse as Bollard artist Jan Mitchell, ex-Mayor Darryn Lyons, Paralympic champion Kelly Cartwright, a number of self-portraits and renowned street artist Rone were represented in the unique artworks.

Entries will be exhibited across Geelong, with an opportunity for the public to vote on their favourite work. The Archibald Prize will be exhibiting at Geelong Gallery from 15 September to 18 November.

Well done to all students involved for their effort and creativity.
