Year 8s Celebrate Tech School Launch
NONE

On Friday 7 September, Year 8 students Harry Sadler, Harvey Kilpatrick, Bailey Cullen and Angus Muhor attended the unofficial opening of the Geelong Tech School with our Director of Teaching and Learning Adrian Camm.

Our students worked with engineers from Ford, designing a smart mobility solution as a means of transport using a design thinking process. Throughout the day, a number of innovative hovercraft designs were constructed by our students and brought to life using simple materials, motors and electronics. The designs were so impressive that Harry, Harvey, Bailey and Angus have been invited back to showcase their work at the official opening next month!

The Geelong Tech School is a new government initiative located at the Gordon. Students in Geelong and surrounding areas will be able to access the tech school throughout 2019 for specialised programs linked to local industries.

Learning at the tech school will centre on industry-led projects in a high-tech environment. It is an exciting addition to Geelong and an invaluable resource to schools in the area.
