Old Geelong Through to Two Grand Finals

Both the Men's Seniors and Reserves teams of the Old Geelong Football Club are through to their respective Grand Finals in the VAFA competition this Saturday, 15 September.

The OGs were victorious in their VAFA Premier C Preliminary Final last Saturday against Williamstown CYMS by 1 point. Both the Men’s Seniors and Reserves won through to play in a Grand Final this weekend against Fitzroy FC. In doing so, the OGC won promotion to Premier B Grade for the first time since 1958. The OGFC is thrilled to have the Old Geelong Collegians' Association as one of the major sponsors, and has a proud history of attracting school leavers from the College to play with the OGs at Como Park. Across the two teams there are eight former Geelong College students, led by new recruit Jack Sheridan (OGC 2015), with a number of others, including Captain Callum Wood (OGC 2008) out injured.

The OGFC also boasts the largest female participation in all of the VAFA with 135 registered women across our two female teams. Both of these teams also contested finals football in 2018, while our Under-19s program is an ideal way to stay in touch with school friends and make new ones as well. We look forward to continuing to welcome Geelong College students as a vital part of the OGFC community moving forward.

The Old Geelong Football Club welcomes everyone associated with The Geelong College to Trevor Barker Oval in Sandringham to watch the boys battle for the Premiership on Saturday 15 September.
