On Sunday the Victorian
Government announced some easing of restrictions that are relevant to
the programming of the Recreation Centre. Changes that were announced
have been considered and we have decided to recommence the remaining
Term 3 lessons during Term 4 with the commencement date being Thursday
the 29 October
Class times will be sent out shortly, they will be the same as Term 3 except Friday students - please take note of your class times as they have changed just slightly.
We see this as a significant step forward, but we understand that many students from Term 1 and 2 have missed out on a position for Term 4. We will be providing a couple of options in the coming days to get some more squad swimmers and pre squad swimmers back in the water. These positions are limited but we endeavour to include as many students as possible.
Term 4 Schedule
• Monday lessons from 9 November – 14 December
• Tuesday lessons from 3 November – 8 December
• Wednesday lessons from 4 November – 9 December
• Thursday lessons from 29 October - 10 December
• Friday lessons from 30 Oct – 11 December
Term 1 2021
The Learn to Swim team are preparing the foundations for a new and improved 2021 program with further community inclusion and greater internal opportunities once full operations return. We hope to be able to include all students from 2020 as well as integrating our outstanding waiting list positions into the program
The enrolment process for 2021 will be different. We will assign lessons based on previous enrolment data along with other considerations. This process will commence once we can be confident of the level of restrictions that the Recreation Centre will be governed by for that period.

Good news! The Holiday Intensive Program will run again in January.
The Holiday Intensive Program at The Geelong College Recreation Centre is a concentrated program for both swimmers and divers that runs over five consecutive days. This is a fantastic opportunity to trial our in demand Lear-to-Swim and Diving Programs in an intesnsive format.
Week 1 starting 11 January – 15 Jan 2021
Week 2 Starting 18 January – 22 Jan 2021
We cater from 3.5-year-olds and onwards, The program covers all RLSSA Swim and Survive levels. Each holiday program consists of 30-minute lessons conducted each day over five consecutive mornings (Monday - Friday).
Past programs have developed major improvements in our participants, due to small class numbers, a quiet learning environment and qualified teachers with industry currency.
Swimming during the school holidays is a great alternative to lessons throughout the term for families
with busy schedules.
For those already enrolled in the Recreation Centre’s Learn-to-Swim program, this holiday program will assist children in consolidating skills they need to complete in order to achieve their next level, or to kickstart their progress into a new level.
Squad swimming sessions will be available only in week 2 of the program and will be Monday to Friday for a one hour session.
Cost: $90 per student.
The Geelong College Intensive Learn-to-Dive classes are for children interested in exploring the sport of diving. The program is designed to encourage children to develop the basic skills of diving and suitably prepare them for their annual school diving competitions.
This holiday program will be made up of 5 x 60minute lessons where our level 1 diving coach will provide video analysis, Land drills and plenty of encouragement to all divers through out the week.
Learn-to-Dive Entry Requirements
Cost: $110 per student.
Thank you once again for your support of the Recreation Centre and all of the new procedures.
Unfortunately following the Victorian Government’s announcement yesterday regarding Level 3 restrictions for Regional Victoria, The Geelong College Recreation Centre will be ceasing operation effective Wednesday at 11.59pm until at least Thursday 17 September, with any reopen date to be confirmed.
Our Squad program will finish after lessons on Wednesday 5 August, Squad students will be given a credit for the remainder of the program missed due to the closure.
We hope to start our Squad program in Term 4 and are planning for various scenarios. We will keep you updated as more information becomes available and we are able to confirm our plans.
If the term is still effected by the closure of the Centre in Term 4, payments made will be credited to the student.
