Students explore imaginative ideas in their Visual Diary with their stylised and embellished names recorded on the opening page. Students experiment with different drawing implements, noting the effects achieved when manipulating permanent and non‑permanent markers. Correct holding of their implements is reinforced. Students experience drawing ‘en plein air’, when studying trees as their subject matter.
Students explore the sensation of using water colour, food dye and acrylic paint with different sized brushes on paper, calico fabric and an MDF surface. Students are encouraged to create interesting colours with good clarity.
Students investigate the possibilities of arranging colourful and tactile embellishments onto an MDF heart shaped surface to create a happy artwork to celebrate Mother’s Day. Careful use of the glue during this activity is encouraged.
