Number and Algebra
Students manipulate physical objects and produce drawings to develop an understanding of number. They count, order and identify number patterns. Students work with a variety of objects to represent the number 10 and model numbers to 100. They model addition situations with concrete materials and are encouraged to prove their answers and articulate their thinking using counting on and counting back strategies.
Statistics and Probability
Students collect data from relevant questions about the world to create lists, tables and picture graphs. They interpret data in context. Students use everyday language to describe outcomes of familiar events.
