Students create imaginative ideas in their Visual Diary in response to different artistic provocations. Line, pattern and colour are explored as they use different drawing implements to create their responses.
Students follow up an idea using an absorbent paper surface to work with cool, warm and earthy groups of colours. The students observe new and colourful effects due to the unique nature of the surface using different sized brushes.
Mixed Media Assemblage
Students are introduced to a soft, malleable wire that is easily worked and formed. Student’s hands carefully manipulate the soft wire so that a pleasing free standing artwork comes to life. A sense of balance and stability is reinforced. They combine their absorbent paper with the wire in interesting ways to create a thoughtful assemblage to celebrate Mother’s Day.
